*A Message from our Principal*

September 4, 2020

Dear Lookout Mt. Families,

I suddenly find myself anxiously awaiting the Thursday reveal of the new percentages on the Maricopa County Health Department return to school dashboard. Search by District: Washington Elementary   https://www.maricopa.gov/5594/School-Metrics

We are looking for yellow or green indicators with under 7% in percent positivity and within Covid-like Illness

Yellow under 7% for two weeks means we can move to a hybrid model

Green under 5% means for two weeks means we can move to a face to face model.

Thursday metrics 9/3/2020

Overall Risk Level is:

 Moderate

Recommended Learning Scenario is:

Virtual w/onsite support until <7% positivity for 2 weeks*

Benchmarks

Most Recent Data [1]

Cases Per 100k People 47.37 yellow zone

Percent Positivity 7.58% yellow zone but NOT under 7%

Covid-Like Illness 3.0% green zone

Our numbers are trending downward in hopes we will be moving to a hybrid model or even better all green under 5% and we can go to a full face to face model.

Note:     Online learning will continue to be an option throughout the district for

those families that choose to remain at home for the

20-21 school year learning virtually

The Hybrid Model Under 7%

(masks, 6 feet distancing, temperature checks, enhanced cleaning and hand washing)

· Two days in person

· Two days self paced

· Early Release Wednesdays – Online Virtual learning session

Please make sure to complete the online

Next week you will receive a survey asking you to register for a spot at Lookout Mt. for when we return to learn utilizing the hybrid model. We need you to fill this out and submit the information. This will allow us to “save a seat” for your child. Remember you also have the option on continuing online learning the entire year.

Keep checking on Thursdays for the new set of metrics. We need two weeks under 7%!!!

Sincerely,

Tricia H. Johnson, Principal

Lookout Mountain Elementary School
